Watching Thor 2 recently got me inspired to have another go at drawing the buff Asgardian, especially with so much of the movie practically taking place on my doorstep (give or take a couple of towns…).
I’ve been very bad at creating any personal work since I do so much painting in my day job these days… but doing this has reminded me how important it is to make time to draw for yourself now and then. Partly to stay sane, but also to remember why you do all this creative stuff in the first place - because it’s FUN! :)
Its also been nice to see the improvement that daily drawing can make in just a few months. If you’re looking to improve, its something I can definitely recommend.

Work in progress portrait of Andrea from The Walking Dead. Next job is to draw the background (that’s a photo I’m using at the moment) and work out how best to colour it.

Time lapse video of my Walking Dead portrait :)

Continuing my Walking Dead series, inspired by the fact season 3 just ended (bring on season 4!). Here we have that ‘loveable brute’ Merle after yet another bloody battle with some walkers.
Pretty pleased with the likeness on this one. I used a slightly different technique than I usually do and I think it worked out much better!

Some cutesy vector practice in illustrator with the super fantastic Ninja Turtles and their arch enemy Shredder, along with his cohorts Bebop and Rocksteady.

Decided I should practice my vector skillz and ended up drawing this Elvis impersonator.

A hero in a half shell: Leonardo!
Took a bit longer with this one as I was trying a different technique, but turned out well in the end I think. Really want to draw his brothers now!

Taking a break from coding, thought I’d draw a pinup with a big gun!

Busy making vector versions and animations for my flash game!

All the gang together in a final action shot, on a temporary background until I can come up with something good…
